Stanko began her career in Pennsylvania, teaching English Language Arts at a small private high school where she immersed herself in differentiating content and instruction to serve the needs of the culturally and linguistically diverse student population. Her interest in curriculum design grew over the course of her tenure as a secondary English teacher at a public high school in Pennsylvania, as she became involved in district-level curriculum initiatives and developed new interdisciplinary instructional units and full-course curricula to address gaps in content and skills for her students.
